What Inspires Me? Finding Joy in Culture, Flavor & Community

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Puerto Rican/Cuban Festival at the Pearland Town Center—and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical. The air was alive with music that made you want to dance, vendors lined the walkways with treasures full of color and craftsmanship, and the aromas of authentic Hispanic flavors filled every corner of the event.

For me, inspiration often comes from experiences that connect heart, culture, and community. Festivals like this remind me that food and tradition go hand in hand. Every note of salsa music, every sip of café, and every bite of flavorful dishes brought me right back to my Puerto Rican roots.

As I wandered through the festival, I realized how much I thrive on moments like these. Inspiration doesn’t just come from quiet reflection—it can also be found in laughter, in vibrant colors, in conversations with strangers who feel like familia, and in the simple joy of gathering together to celebrate culture.

Events like the Puerto Rican/Cuban Festival don’t just fill my heart—they fuel my creativity in the kitchen. They remind me why I love what I do: bringing people together through food, flavor, and shared experiences.

So, what inspires me? It’s moments like these—where culture, community, and connection collide—that spark my soul and push me to create with passion. Thanks to all who put on this fantastic event! I want to ask, what inspires you?
